It's Therapeutic Thursday

Today is Therapeutic Thursday at Aortic Hope.

❤️We have discussed a variety of grounding techniques using our 5 senses as a way to destress and reduce anxiety but not too many people have heard of EFT Tapping.

👉EFT tapping is a technique that involves tapping on specific points on your body while repeating positive affirmations. It is supposed to help you release negative emotions, reduce stress, and improve your well-being. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, some people swear by it, while others think it's a bunch of nonsense.

😊Here's a quick guide on how to do EFT tapping, in case you want to give it a try.

1. Identify the issue you want to work on, such as anxiety, anger, or pain.

2. Rate the intensity of the issue on a scale of 0 to 10, where 0 is no problem and 10 is the worst possible.

3. Choose a phrase that summarizes the issue and adds a positive affirmation, such as "Even though I feel anxious, I accept myself and my feelings."

4. Tap on the following points on your body, while repeating the phrase out loud or in your mind: the side of your hand (karate chop point), the top of your head, the inner eyebrow, the side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, the chin, the collarbone, under the arm, and the wrist.

5. Take a deep breath and rate the intensity of the issue again. If it has decreased, repeat the process until it reaches zero or a low number. If it has increased or stayed the same, try changing the phrase or tapping on different points.

👏Congratulations! You have just learned how to do EFT tapping. Now you can tap away your troubles anytime, anywhere. Just don't do it in public, or people might think you're crazy.
